YogAnatomy! Self-Care for the Pelvis, Hips, & LegsInstructor Molly Farwell, LMT, RYT®200 This three-hour workshop is for massage therapists, yogis, and lovers of embodied practice to focus attention and learn (or re-learn) anatomy of the lower body. The class includes meditation, lecture, and yoga practice (approx. 1 hour) for an intensive focus on the well-being of the pelvis, hips, legs & feet. Participants will leave feeling relaxed, restored, and embodied, with a toolbox of techniques for maintaining stability and mobility in the lower body. All participants will benefit from improved proprioception and understanding of the body. Increased awareness of muscle anatomy, function, and proprioception will benefit therapists and yoga teachers alike in recognizing and working with tension patterns in the body. (3 CE hours for Massage Therapists through NCBTMB - sorry, no continuing ed credits for yoga teachers! See also: YogAnatomy! Self-Care for the Neck, Shoulders, and Spine) Prerequisites: Attendees should be able to sit comfortably on the floor (with or without props), rise to standing from the floor, and sustain moderate activity for approximately 1 hour. An ongoing yoga and/or meditation practice is helpful, but not required. What to Bring: You MUST bring your own yoga mat! If available, please bring your own block, strap, blanket, or other props. A limited number of props are available for borrowing (but no mats!).
