Race + Identity Workshop
In order to build a healthy, racially-conscious work environment, we must have a shared language about identity and racial equity that builds accountability for how we interact with one another. Join us for one of Mission Partners’ quarterly Race + Identity Training Days, which focus specifically on building shared language for addressing and reducing harmful environments at work. This one day session is designed to provide the foundation, as well as a safe space to practice and learn so that you are ready to lead with a race equity lens. What You’ll Learn: How to develop a shared language for identifying and addressing racial inequities in life and at work. Understand how you identify as a person and break down common stereotypes How to build empathy and a deeper understanding for cultures different than our own Develop strategies to recognize and address microaggressions in the workplace Understand the complexities of personal identity Hosted in Mission Partners’ Design Thinking Studio in Bethesda, this facilitated, hands-on session uncovers interpersonal and sometimes internalized oppressions that may arise within your office environment or out in the field, and provides you with the tools to address those situations. Each session is filled with interactive activities and best practices, tailored to your experiences and industries. This session is intended for anyone who is interested in improving their own, or their organization’s racial equity lens.
