Fronted by 'belt-it-out' vocalist Melissa Bronez, NOBODYS BUSINESS takes its up-tempo business seriously. The eight-piece band - including keyboards, harmonica and sax - comes at you hard with a drivin' mix of blues, R&B and jazz - not to mention a growing catalogue of hard-to- forget originals. Washingtonian magazine praised the group's "throaty...careful blend of funky blues and R&B" and called Bronez's vocals "smooth and full-bodied." NOBODYS BUSINESS has appeared at the Kennedy Centers Millennium Stage, HILL COUNTRY downtown, REPUBLIC in Takoma Park and VILLAIN & SAINT in Bethesda. The band has been the featured act twice in the Glen Echo Park Summer Concert series and has appeared half a dozen times at the JOURNOPALOOZA Festival. NOBODYS BUSINESS is comprised of vocalists Bronez and Karoun Demirjian, guitarists Jon Landay and Joe Hodges, bassist Glen McCarthy, drummer Fred Kunkle, sax player Gordon Witkin and Paul Ashin on keyboard and harmonica.
