Friday, December 3, 2021, 3:00 AM

The National Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1931 by cellist/conductor Hans Kindler. Since 1971, it has been presenting an annual concert season at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. It became the Kennedy Center's artistic affiliate in 1986. The seasons run all year long, with about 175 performances each year, including classical subscription series, pops concerts, and educational programs. In 2017, Music Director Christoph Eschenbach will hand the baton over to Gianandrea Noseda of Italy. The principal pops conductor is Steven Reineke.
