LWVMC 2019 Annual Meeting & Luncheon w/Speaker
Join us for our 2019 Annual Meeting - Saturday, June 1 Cost: $25 for the meeting & lunch (Sandwich & Salad Buffet) $5 for the meeting only, if you are not having lunch (contact the LWVMC Office for this option). We will meet in the Founders Hall of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Rockville. 9:30 am: Doors Open for Registration, Coffee, hot tea and refreshments 10 am: Meeting Starts As we prepare to head into our 100th year, come, make your voice heard! This year we will be voting for president, along with other officers and board members. Plus, we have several important items to consider, including by-laws changes, new and updated positions and studies and the 2019-20 budget. Your vote matters!! Then we hope you can stay after the meeting to enjoy lunch together & hear from our speaker Don Bliss, LWVMC member and husband of our current president Nancy Bliss. Topic: Mark Twain on the Women’s Vote and American Elections More Generally Speaker Bio: Don Bliss is the great grandson and grandson of Mark Twain’s publishers. He has written and spoken widely about Mark Twain and politics. His book entitled Mark Twain’s Tale of Today, The Celebrated Author Critiques American Politics, is available on Amazon. He met his wife Nancy, outgoing president of the Montgomery County League of Women’s Voters, when they were Peace Corps Volunteers in Micronesia.
