Free - “Meet a Ballet Dancer” Lecture/Demonstration

Monday, April 29, 2019, 11:00 PM

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be a ballet dancer? Or have you ever wanted to try a ballet class but didn’t know where or how? Join us at our “Meet a Ballet Dancer” Lecture/Demonstration series across the city and meet two Washington Ballet dancers in person. Hear their personal stories from falling in love with ballet to becoming a professional dancer, and see their impressive ability. Get to dance yourself as they teach basic ballet and storytelling through movement. Get answers to all your questions such as: what are pointe shoes, why do ballet dancers wear tutus, and what does it take to become a professional dancer? Ages two and up are invited to attend. The Washington Ballet is proud to announce the 2019 Dance for All, a community engagement initiative that brings free performances, demonstrations, and dance classes to every neighborhood in Washington, DC. Dance for All puts The Washington Ballet’s mission to bring the joy and artistry of dance to our nation’s capital into action. Learn more here: https://www.washingtonballet.org/dance-for-all/
