2019 CareWalk for a Cure for Thalassemia
Join us for 2019 CareWalk to raise awareness and funding for Thalassemia research!
It will be a fun-filled family event kicking off at Caroline Freeland Park at 7200 Arlington Road in Bethesda MD.
Thalassemia is a rare genetic blood disorder that causes red blood cells to fail. Many, including infants, need blood transfusions every month to survive.
All proceeds benefit the Cooley’s Anemia Foundation, a 502(c)(3) nonprofit.
The walk is around Bethesda Row.
Reaching our national goal of $300,000 will:
Help fund 7 thalassemia research grants
Help fund the 2019 CAF Patient-Family Conference
Help students with thalassemia pursue higher education!
We will have:
Live music to get your vibe on from musicians from the DC Metro including Eli Lev & Emma G. Music.
Activities for kids including face painting and balloon animals
Supporters from local businesses
A silent auction
Please come and show support for free. If you are able, please register as an official walker and receive a t-shirt and badge.
