People and Stories: Reading Deeply in Community

Friday, August 18, 2017, 10:00 PM

You don’t have to love reading to enjoy a great story. People & Stories/Gente y Cuentos adult literature program comes to Watha T. Daniel/Shaw Neighborhood Library. This unique reading and discussion group brings community together for a deep exploration of short stories. The stories cover a broad range of topics. We invite you to bring your own perspective to this eight-session program. Your opinions, insights, and life experiences are valued and encouraged! In each session, a short story will be read aloud, followed by a discussion about the story that focuses on connections between the text and participants’ own lives.  Attendees do not have to prepare for the program in any way. It is free and open to all adults.Session Dates: June 30, 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. July 7, 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. July 14, 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. July 21, 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. July 28, 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. August 4, 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. August 11, 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. August 18, 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. This program was made possible by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
